A tea-lover’s dream – PrettyTea.ca

pretty tea review

Being a tea lover, I love buying new varieties of teas to try. My favourite is the Earl Grey, so I’m always on the lookout for new Earl Grey variations. I recently discovered Pretty Tea, a Montreal-based boutique tea shop that carries nearly 200 different teas, from the traditional blacks and greens, to oolongs, blooming teas, and several different flavoured teas.

I ordered a few to try, including of course Lady in Blue, a lavendar Earl Grey. I was very happy with all of the teas, the tastes were all pretty true to their scents, and it was super easy to brew the teas based on the simple instructions at the front of the package. My favourites were Kombucha, Pumpkin Spice, Canadian Apple Cider (great for this time of year!), Lady in Blue (of course) and That’s Peachy.

The only downsides were that I wasn’t able to sniff the tea before purchasing, and also shipping was a bit slow. I had placed my original order on September 24, it got shipped out on September 30 and arrived on October 6. This was understandable as they are a small boutique shop and ships out from their store, rather than from warehouses across the country. The descriptions on the website for the teas were all pretty accurate, and I didn’t find anything that deviated too much from my expectations, so I was okay that I purchased them “blind.”

Other than the two issues mentioned above, I do plan on reordering from Pretty Tea. The prices, starting as low as $2.50 for 25g, are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of product, and you also receive free shipping on orders over $40. If you’re a tea lover like me, make sure to check out Pretty Tea!

  1. I was really happy with my first Pretty Tea order too, although I just saw on their website that they have discontinued the two teas I have enjoyed most! I think the prices and quality definitely beat the overrated David’s Tea.

    • That’s too bad they discontinued it! I was looking at some teas from before that I wanted to order and they were gone too, but I hadn’t been hooked on it yet so it’s all good. I agree that David’s Tea is overrated. They’re expanding so fast that the service quality at their retail locations has declined significantly.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments!
