#4 Fastest Growing WP Blog!

Guess what?! I scroll down today and I see that my blog is #4 on the list of fastest growing WordPress blogs! Maybe because… I switched from Blogger so I’m not exactly a “new” blog, LOL.

Thanks to everyone for your support! I hope to continue growing this blog with all my love and care.

Finally got my replacement camera charger!

I finally got my replacement camera charger, which means… pictures galore! I took a bunch of random photos before my camera died, now you get everything in one post. Most of it is just stuff I bought and some more outfits…

The two shirts on the left are new, love the sequined heart shirt <3. The plum blouse is from EDC and was probably one of the most expensive articles of clothing I bought this summer...

Lucky cat keychain.

Lucky cats are so cute ❤

This sequin heart shirt goes with everything! My love, Jay Chou, is also the spokesperson for this brand ❤

The cute shirt that was featured on my blog before.

An off-the-shoulder top that I fell in love with on first sight.

New haircut! I just got it trimmed and my layers defined, nothing too exciting.

Another angle of new haircut.

Light jacket, perfect for the summer months.

The sequined heart shirt with the summer jacket.

Cotton blazer with fur trim. So comfy and it makes me look slimmer, hehe.

New down jacket for the cold winter months! I'll likely be keeping this to wear in Vancouver as I have my huge one for Kingston.

Last but not least, Hello Kitty stuff I bought at Watsons. Pore strips and the LE HK x Maybelline mascara.

Goodbye, Blogger!

Bye Bye Blogger. I hope to see you again!

No, I haven’t quit the world of blogging, rather, I’ve moved to somewhere else!

Please continue to support me over at Maddy Loves! I’ve changed the name, domain and hosting platform for my blog. I’ve decided that Mademoiselle loves Beauty is too long of a name for anyone to remember and/or want to type into their URL bar, so Maddy Loves it is.

There are still problems and such (like the generic template) of the new WordPress blog, so please be patient when I tweak everything out. I didn’t want to stop everything just so I can get everything ready so I’m doing it this way instead.

I’ve also created a Facebook page for my blog (its still the old name though), please do join and support me =)

I hope to continue to see your comments!

New online store for all your Japanese makeup needs (+ giveaway)!

My blogger buddy Nic has opened up her own online makeup store that stocks all types and brands of Japanese cosmetics. Its called A Pop of Kawaii. You get everything fresh and straight from Japan.

If you haven’t been following Nic’s blog, you should totally go do that. Her blog posts are always informative and showcase a variety of products. Not to mention she is one of the nicest people I’ve met on the blogosphere and I’m very lucky to know her.

Anyways, Nic is currently have a giveaway to celebrate the grand opening of her online makeup store.

I’m entering for sure, and so should you!

Where does BB cream come in?

BB Cream, or Blemish Balm Cream, is roughly defined as a cream that has triple function: covers, protects, repairs (ie. whitens or has anti-aging properties). It has been the rage in Asia for the past few years with every cosmetic company coming out with their own version of this highly coveted cream.

I’ve not been using BB creams for very long, but I have been using it on and off for the past maybe 2 years or so. I know some people swear by BB cream and refuse to wear any other type of makeup base, but I just can’t understand the hype behind it still. To me, BB creams are pretty heavy creams with sheer to medium coverage and actually look powdery on me at times. Thus I still always go back to my beloved foundation.

Not to mention now many companies are coming out with foundations with skincare benefits such as Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Guerlain Parure Gold. Not only do these foundations offer the same benefits as BB cream, they are more widely available all over the world and not just in Asia, and they are often lighter in texture but has the same coverage.

Don’t get me wrong, I am really loving the Missha BB cream that I am using right now, I just don’t really understand the point of it since there are so many other products that are so similar.

So between all the foundations, tinted moisturizers and other type of makeup bases, where does BB cream come in?

30,000

My blog has officially passed 30,000 hits.

Its probably not a huge deal to most of you, but for some reason I felt that this number has some significance to me. I remember when I was following this girl’s personal blog (she’s stopped blogging now… disappeared off somewhere) and I congratulated her on reaching 30,000 visitors.

I had never thought that this would happen to me, but it did, just yesterday.

Thank you to everyone who has read or currently reads my blog. I put a lot of time and energy writing each and every piece that is posted here. No matter if you find the material relevant to you, I still hope it has helped you in some way, even if it is just filling up some free time you have.

I’m a blogger, I guess I would be considered an informal journalist if that is what bloggers are being called today. My readers are the most important asset to me because without you, I wouldn’t be here writing. Although personally I try to write more for myself than for others, because this is still my blog (ie. I don’t write just because I have readers, I write because I love to write), I have to admit during some odd times I probably wouldn’t have bothered writing on if I didn’t have anyone to read it.

So, today I thank you for the time and energy you have put into reading my material. Hopefully in the coming weeks, months and years, the material will become more relevant to you as I expand my knowledge of beauty products and blogging in general.

Since I’m already making it sound like an award show… I might as well thank some people =D

I thank… PJ at A Touch of Blusher

PJ was the first ever beauty blogger I discovered. I was looking for reviews of a certain product (can’t remember what it was now) when I stumbled on her blog. She completely opened the door for me to the world of beauty blogging because I didn’t even know something like this existed. I had started blogging when I was pretty young during the days of Xanga, but that was just about ranting about life and such, never about anything really substantial. But thanks to PJ, I’m now fully addicted to writing about beauty products, makeup and skincare. Thank you, PJ!

I thank… Erynn at e.motion in motion

I think Erynn is the first real blogger friend I’ve made. I’ve made some contact with other bloggers in the past but its always been very formal, never really friendly, kind of like a blogger interacting with once of his/her readers. But it was different with Erynn because I felt like we could really talk about things, even if it wasn’t about makeup. My first formal swap was also with Erynn, I felt so bad after receiving her package because I’ve never done swaps before and I’m not really familiar with the customs associated with it (like not writing a note on a piece of torn white paper… oops, lol) Thank you, Erynn for being so great!

I thank… Miz Pink (aka Pam)

I don’t think I’ve ever really interacted with Pam except over Twitter, but I really admire her ability to be honest. In school we’re always taught to cover ourselves up online. In elementary school it was because there are creepers online, and now in university its because potential recruiters are looking at our online profiles. I believe in full honesty, but sometimes there are just so many roadblocks. I applaud Pam for being so true to herself. I’d really want to meet her some day, because I know she’d bring out the best in me. Thank you, Pam!

Of course, thank you to each and one of you who’s made me reach 30,000. Love you all and hope that you continue to support my “cause” here. HEHE.

Can’t wait for Spring? Try L’Occitane Cherry Blossom EDT

L’Occitane is one of my favourite bath and body brands because one of their main ingredients in many of their products is shea butter. Ever since first year of university when my skin started peeling severely due to Kingston’s cold, dry winters, L’Occitane’s shea butter products have saved my skin.

I recently visited one of their stores in Paris when I was there a few weeks ago and I came out with their newest Eau de Toilette in the Cherry Blossom series. Cherry Blossoms, aka Sakura, are one of my favourite types of flowers. Not only does it remind me of spring, but it reminds me of spring in Vancouver because the main streets of Vancouver are lined with Sakura trees.

Description:
A fresh and floral fragrance that celebrates the beauty of the cherry blossoms during the first days of spring.

Top Note: sweet & juicy with Cherry and Freesia Middle Note: Floral and Feminine with Cherry Blossom and Lily of the valley Base Note: Warm and Woody with Amber and Musk.

Anyways, this is definitely one of my new favourites. It is an extremely light floral, perfect for when you want to break out that floral fragrance but don’t want to overpower everything else.

In my opinion, L’Occitane makes the perfect fragrances for spring. I also have their Eau de 4 Reines EDT, which is a rose-based fragrance. All of their fragrances are light and never overpowering, which is great for day-wear. Even if you don’t like Cherry Blossoms, I recommend that you give their other scents a chance.

What are some of your favourite L’Occitane products?
