Review – Clarins Extra-Firming Mask

Clarins Extra-Firming Mask review

For fall 2016, Clarins is introducing its first relaxing, anti-aging mask. The Clarins Extra-Firming Mask (C$65 for 75mL) is a leave-on mask that doubles as a massage cream as well. It contains ingredients such as palmitoyl glycine, lemon thyme, organic green banana, and acerola seed, the combination of which claims to reduce the look of tension lines, reinforce the links between collagen fibre and cells, and encourages the oxygenation of cells to revive skin radiance.

Clarins Extra-Firming Mask review

Even though it’s called the Extra-Firming Mask, it should really be called the ultimate night-time relaxation treatment. It comes in a really pretty mauve lavender jar, and the colour of the cream itself is a light mauve lavender that stimulates relaxation. It smells absolutely divine, utilizing another one of the senses to induce relaxation. The texture is a thick gel that makes it perfect for a quick massage. It absorbs completely with absolutely no residue, so that your hair won’t stick to your face. You don’t need to rinse this off, and you can either go to bed and use it as a sleeping mask, or continue with your evening. Because it has a thicker texture with some slip, I don’t recommend using this during the day underneath makeup.

Clarins Extra-Firming Mask is available September 1, 2016, in store at Beauty Court, the Bay, select Shoppers Drug Mart, and online at Clarins.com
