Paul & Joe Summer 2016 Come Sail Away collection – Cat lipstick, Face & Eye Colour Palette, and Silky Pressed Powder

Paul & Joe summer 2016 makeup collection review

Paul & Joe Beaute‘s summer 2016 Come Sail Away collection has a beachy vibe featuring sail boats and a nautical theme! Today I have a few products from the collection to show you.

Paul & Joe summer 2016 cat lipstick review

The popular cat lipstick (C$20 for the refill, C$7 for the case) from last fall are being re-introduced for the summer with a new limited edition formula. The outer lipstick is transparent, formulated with a hydrating oils such as Cocoa Seed Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil and Lavander Oil to nourish lips. The inner, cat-shaped layer carries a light veil of colour that melts with the outside layer to create a glossy shine. There are three colours: Catamaran (001), a nude; Smooth Sailing (002), a cool-toned pink; and Ahoy (003), a sheer red. The shade I have is Catamaran and it’s just adorable – the cat design goes all the way through to the bottom of the lipstick, as with the lipsticks from last fall. If you’re a cat lover, you must get one (or all) of these for your collection!

The case of the lipstick is sold separately, and this summer there are two limited edition lipstick case designs. The one above features a navy and white design, and the alternate design features a sky blue and white. I love that there are cats also imprinted on the insider of the tube; it’s just such a nice touch. I also love that the lipstick cases for this summer are plastic, rather than the usual cardboard paper. The paper ones are extremely flimsy and can’t really be reused or carried around with you, so these are much better.

The Face & Colour Colour Palettes (C$36) are also new and limited edition for summer 2016. The palettes are infused with skin conditioning and hydrating ingredients, such as Orange Flower Water, White Lily Extract, Jojoba Seed Oil, Rosemary extract and Rose Canina Fruit Extract. It comes in three coordinated palette variations: Sunshine & Sand (001), Coral Garden (002) and Come Sail Away (003). The shade I have above is Coral Garden, which features a beauty coral shimmery shade that would make a good blush/highlighter, a bright rose-pink shade, and a light, warm-toned brown. This palette is perfect as a quick travel contour/blush palette as well, because you can use the brown as a quick contour, the rose pink as a blush, and the coral as a highlighter.

The packaging of the Face & Colour Colour Palettes is very whimsical. They are made out of paper though, which again is not the most sturdy.

Lastly, the Paul & Joe Silky Pressed Powder (C$48) received a new limited edition compact case for summer 2016. It is house in a retro, beach-inspired compact, with a soft, fluffy white compact puff. The limited edition Silky Pressed Powder comes in two shades 01, a pale, pink hue to improve complexion and emphasize clarity; and 02, a multi-beige shade that matches and enhances any skin tone. The shade I have above is 01, and it’s fantastic for brightening the skintone. It does not provide any coverage though, so you’ll have to wear a foundation or BB cream underneath to cover any pores or imperfections.

The limited edition Silky Pressed Powder also comes with a limited edition silky pouch to help carry the rest of your beach essentials.

I’m a big fan of Paul & Joe Beaute, and I’m very happy to see that the summer 2016 collection is again an outstanding one. I would highly recommend checking out the cat lipsticks, as well as the Face & Eye Colour Palettes. If you’re in need of a face powder, the Silky Pressed Powder is a good option.

  1. Ahh cat lipstick! Want!
That blush palette too… so cute but not over the top. And really, not a bad price for 3 colours!
I think I’ll hold off on this for now… I’m off to Japan this week so I’ll see what they have there!

  2. I love this post A LOT – and your blog is sooo pretty … Keep it up and I MUST get some Cat Lippies! They were sold out when I was in Japan 😦
