MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Colour Sticks (C$30) will be available at MAC counters, stores, and online on May 19, 2016. These Pro Longwear Colour Sticks are long wearing with impactful colours, claiming medium-to-full coverage in just a single swipe. MAC also claims that you can use these as a thick liner, or as all over colour.
I have four shades to share with you today – Flat White, Madly Sunny, Soft Steel, and Iris Eyes. Flat White is a matte, creme white; Madly Sunny is a matte, creme chartreuse; Soft Steel is a metallic taupe; and Iris Eyes is a metallic light, blue grey with silver pearl. Pigmentation of these Pro Longwear Colour Sticks indeed is very good, all of these swatches were made with just one swipe. The texture is also relatively soft, with the metallic shades softer and easier to apply than the matte, creme shades. I found the creme shades to be drier, and tugged a bit when applying on the eyelids.
The biggest issue I had with these Pro Longwear Colour Sticks was that they did not like to blend out on the lid. I applied these straight-from-the-bullet onto my eyelids, and then proceeded to blend them out right away with a fluffy brush, and within those 3 seconds, the colour had pretty much already set. I tried to go back over it a few times with more colour but it just made it worse because the colour ended up applying very patchy.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend these, there are much better eyeshadow crayon sticks on the market now that are similarly priced but perform much better.
