A few weeks ago, I attended the press event for Guerlain‘s launch of their newly reformulated Parure Gold foundation. The Parure Gold foundation is available in both a liquid and powder formula.
The updated Parure Gold formula contains collagen and elastin boosters such as Hexapeptide and Myrrh- Extract, as well as new gold pigments to create an elevated glow. Lastly, there is also an improved sunscreen factor at SPF 30, PA+++ for full sun protection.
I was extremely fortunate to be asked to be a model for Guerlain’s international makeup artist Maxime Poulin. Maxime used my face to demonstrate how to create a glowing, youthful look using Guerlain’s recent releases. On my cheeks, he used the new Rose aux Joues in Pink Me Up to create a healthy flush. He also applied highlighter to certain areas of my face to create that youthful glow.
Maxime’s tips for creating a fresh look using highlighter on Asian skintone:
- Highlight vertically down the centre of the face to create more dimension
- Apply blusher to the apples of the cheeks, and blend towards the temple, but avoid getting blusher too close to the nose (at least a finger away from each side of the nose), or too low on the face
- Instead of using shadow to contour, use a highlight pen right underneath your blusher to create a fresher, younger look
Along with the launch of the new Parure Gold foundation, Guerlain also repackaged their L’Or Pure Radiance Face Primer. Maxime specifically noted that this primer doesn’t have any silicones in it, and is rather for providing a boost of hydration to the skin using ingredients such as glycerin, rosa centifolia extract and hydrolized rice protein. It also contains real gold flecks to boost radiance. I’ve been using this product on special occasions since I received it (including at MizzJ’s wedding in Hawaii and her reception in Vancouver) and I absolutely love it. I’ll have a full review up soon!
