Urban decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush review

If you love a good vibrant blush, then Urban Decay has got your back. New for summer 2015 is the Afterglow 8-Hour Blush (C$31), available in 12 shades from a natural flush to the most vibrant of colours.

Urban decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush review

Let me just start off by saying that I absolutely LOVE these blushes – they last the full eight hours on me, and then some, staying flawless throughout the day and into the night. They create the most incredible flush and glow on the cheeks, blending in seamlessly. I’ve tried a lot of high end blushes that are priced at much higher price points, and the Afterglow 8-Hour Blush has quickly become my favourite formula even when compared to blushes in the $50+ price range.

Urban decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush in Score review

Afterglow 8-Hour Blush in Score is a beautiful shimmery pink peach. The texture of this one was a lot more powdery compared to the others, it didn’t apply or blend into the skin as easily as the other shades. The shimmer seemed to separate from the colour base as well, creating a bit of a shimmery mess.

Urban decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush in Video review

Afterglow 8-Hour Blush in Video is a satin warm nude-brown. I love blushes in this colour because it just creates such a wonderful looking natural glow. I have another blush that’s similar to this (MAC Prim & Proper) and I just love using it when I want have a no makeup, makeup look day. The colour blends into the skin seamlessly, melted in with the rest of the makeup. I was hoping that I can wear this as a contour, but it’s a bit too warm for that. This one wasn’t too powdery when applied, and it created a beautiful and natural sun-kissed glow. It lasted over 8 hours for me, fading around the 9-10 hour mark.

Urban decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush in Quickie review

Afterglow 8-Hour Blush in Quickie is a satin cool-toned fuschia pink. Of the two vibrant shades, I prefer the texture and formula of Quickie. It’s quite powdery but once its applied to the skin, it just blends in flawlessly. On me, it lasted the full eight hours plus more – it looked super natural and glowy throughout the day, and even by the end of the night when I was removing it, it still looked nearly flawless.

Urban decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush in Crush review

Afterglow 8-Hour Blush in Crush is a satin warm-toned rose pink, my favourite colour out of all the blush shades. It just gives me the most beautiful glow. It’s quite powdery though, and there’s a bit of powder flyaway, but it’s not unmanageable. The texture is extremely soft, in that when I dipped my brush in the pan, it created a small dent. Like Quickie, it lasted the full day on me, and staying nearly flawless until I removed it at night.

Urban decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush review

Overall, I truly love these new blushes from Urban Decay. I haven’t tried the old formula, but the new Afterglow 8-Hour blushes create an amazingly natural glow without sacrificing any pigment. There are 12 shades available, so you can find that colour that you really love. One thing I also want to point out is that none of these shades look too similar to each other, which is a plus in my books because oftentimes I find that brands release too many shades that almost look identical; you won’t have that problem with Urban Decay!

You can purchase Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Blush at Sephora and the Urban Decay website.
