With the beauty industry ever innovating with new products that work in more than one way, these Shu Uemura Tint in Gelato Lip and Cheek Colours are just what I need during the hectic morning rush. A lip/cheek tint combo, the Tint in Gelato can be worn as a cream blush, a full-coverage lip product, or a lip tint.
These are textured almost like a whipped creme – a super fluffy cream formula that’s lightweight and easy to blend out. A little goes a long way, so keep that mind when you’re applying this on your cheeks. I like to place some of the product in the palm of my hand before applying this to my cheeks because it sets quickly and you can always apply more (but harder to take it off after it’s already set). Once blended and set, it looks like the most natural flush of colour.
The shades I have are PK01, a cool-toned fuchsia pink, and AT01, a cool-toned red. I have a huge obsession with red blushes and this one fits perfectly in my collection. Even though it looks scary when applied directly from the tube, once blended out, it looks really natural and is perfect for the fall season. On the cheeks, these last all day with no fading.
Worn as a lip colour, the Tint in Gelato Lip and Cheek Colours are a little bit dry. When applied directly from the tube, they wear slightly patchy on the lips, but when dabbed on like a stain, there is no issue with dryness and it looks beautiful. On the lips, it lasts me through to lunch (4-5 hours after initial application), and then I will need to reapply after lunch.
I’ve been wearing PK01 and AT01 on alternate days to work. I will dab a bit from the applicator on the palm of my hands, take a bit to blend onto both cheeks, and then use the rest as a lip stain. The result is an effortless but polished look that took less than a minute to do.
Priced at $28 and available online and at Shu Uemura counters across Canada, I would highly recommend you check these Tint in Gelator Lip and Cheek Colours out.
