Spring 2010: Jill Stuart Jewel Crystal Eyes available now!

Jill Stuart’s new eyeshadow palette, the Jewel Crystal Eye is now available for sale on Gooddealer, which means it is probably also available in stores too.

Are you getting any of them?

I have my eyes on 01 Crystal Ruby and 02 Eternal Platinum, but I want to see swatches of the 02 palette first to see if its pigmented enough.

As usual with JS palettes, there seems to be a lot of colour recycling, even though this time the shades released look a lot more appealing than the other palettes previously released, the shades within this collection look very similar. They are still priced at $1450NT per palette.

Spring 2010: Jill Stuart Jewel Crystal Eyes

I’m excited to announce Jill Stuart’s Spring 2010 Collection! In this collection, there will be the introduction of a new eyeshadow palette. There has been rumours that the Brilliance Eye and Seductive Eye palettes are going to be discontinued, but so far no confirmation.
The new eyeshadow palette named Jewel Crystal Eyes. If tradition holds, there should be 4 variations released. The colours look very pretty, I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these.
There will be two variations of the Mix Blush Compact. I really like the one pictured. Although it looks very similar to 07 Lovely Tulip, I really like that lavender on the top left corner and I don’t think any other Mix Blush Compact has any lavender in it.

Five new variations of the Nail Lacquer N.

I’m most excited about the new Jewel Crystal Eyes. From the look on the model, it seems that they will be less sparkly (ie. glittery) than the other palettes, which is a huge plus for me.

Link: Guerlain Cherry Blossom collection swatches & Spring Wishlist!

Spring is usually my least favourite season for cosmetics because often the colours are either too bland/neutral, or too bright and exciting. It really is hard to find a middlepoint, especially because with all the other seasons, its easy to define a look that is for THAT season, for example autumn means dark rich colour, winter means shimmer/holiday looks, and of course summer means sunlight and bright colours. But with Spring, there is really no clear definition.

This year’s Guerlain’s Spring collection, Cherry Blossom, is a good example of something that is suitable for Spring because it really does remind me of Spring. Personally, I felt Guerlain’s spring collection from last year was a big fail, the colours were not very wearable…

Anyways, you can check out advanced swatches of the entire collection from Yuki’s Lazy Channel. It was from these swatches that I decided I won’t be needing anything from this collection after all, even though from first glance I said that I would probably get everything. The reason is that much of it is overspray, which really disappointed me. The blush especially, after the overspray was taken off, the colours weren’t very unique and although the peach is pretty, I feel its easily dupeable.

I think the only other thing that I am really anticipating for Spring (as of now), is Dior’s Poudrier Dentelle from its Boudoir Look/Lacy Beauty collection. I’m a sucker for lace and anything Dior, so the combination is pretty much like something that fell from heaven for me. It comes in two colours, Peach Lace and Pink Lace. No swatches have surfaced yet, but excited? I think so!

Spring/Summer 2010: Coffret D’or

For Spring/Summer 2010, Coffret D’or is releasing:

The new AA Colour Lipstick. It is like gloss in a stick, supposed to give you pretty, juicy lips. Its one of those Japanese fads to have gloss in a stick, so I’m not surprised about this release for Spring/Summer 2010.

Five variations of its new Jewelcious Eyes.
Two new loose blush variations.
Additionally there is a new Long Power Mascara (in 2 variations) and a pencil eyeliner as well.

I’m starting to become immune to these new Japanese collections. Every season they seem to release the same things without much variation in colour/style/texture. Say for example the eyeshadow palettes, every season there are blue, green, pink, neutral and purple palettes with very similar shades. I’m sorry to say I probably won’t be getting anything from this collection.
