Sorry I haven’t been writing reviews lately. I have been using new products, I just never got around to writing the reviews for them, and I sincerely apologize for that. I received two Sexy Look masks from Kathi of Lotus Palace for review purposes. I’ve been wanting to purchase these for a while now but I’ve been hesitant, due to the uh… unusual naming of this product brand (Sexy Look?). But Kathi offered two masks to another blogger for review so I jumped at the opportunity to be able to try this. Thank you so much, Kathi!
What it is: Sexy Look Ultra Whitening Mask is basically a sheet mask with a “chin lift” section at the bottom that neatly tucks over your ears for a tight fit. The purpose of this “chin lift” is that you can get a tighter fit with your mask, not worry about it falling off as well have a temporary lifting or tightening effect around your chin, neck and jawline.
What it claims (from the package, translated from Chinese): It promises “moisturized, repaired, hydrated, brightened and translucent skin.” On the front of the package, it also says “Elasticity, Whiten, Double Lift.”
The good:
There is a lot of essence in the package, the paper mask is also very thin, soft and absorbed a lot of that serum. It applies really easily, although I do have to really stretch it out to get it to fit over my ears. One I did get it tucked behind my ears, though, it fits extremely well. I did had it on for about 30 minutes after washing my face with cleanser oil, foaming cleanser and then exfoliator, and then applying toner and Cellnique Skin Action Sebum Gel before applying this mask. The entire time I had it on, I didn’t have to adjust it or anything, it just sticks, making it perfect for housewives or people who have busier daily lives as you don’t have to “take care” of it while its on your face.
The serum absorbed quickly and left no residue or greasy feeling. Also it did make my face feel more hydrated and soft. Additionally, I do feel that my jawline is slightly lifted after 30 minutes, although this effect is most definitely temporary.
The bad:
There really isn’t a “bad” side to this mask, although it doesn’t really live up to its name of being a Whitening Mask since I didn’t notice any whitening effects at all. I didn’t see much brightening effect on my face either after 30 minutes. Also because my face is too big, the cloth kind of skips over my chin, as you can see from the picture above.
Overall:
I recommend this mask a lot for people who need that little bit of hydration during their day. Also because of its tight fit, you can actually do some work while giving yourself a mini facial without worrying about it falling off. While it didn’t really live up to its name of a “Whitening Mask,” I still feel that its a worthy investment. Plus for just $12 for 10 pieces, you really can’t go wrong.
My score: ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
