Review: Philosophy the Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash

Posted by Sheila on January 9, 2010

I am a little OCD when it comes to my skin. I need to shower every night, usually right before bed when I can change into my PJs and then climb into bed. I also need to exfoliate once every few days to get rid of that excess grime because then it just feels like its building up and I’m growing a layer of dirt on my skin *pulls hair out*… Yeah, OCD indeed. When I received a deluxe 30mL sample of Philosophy’s Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash, I of course saved it up to use in UK!

What it claims (from Sephora.com):
A mild, exfoliating facial cleanser designed to effectively cleanse the skin while providing resurfacing benefits. Gentle enough to use daily, this unique formula is sulfate-free and formulated with ingredients designed to replenish and protect the skin with topical antioxidants as it helps condition the skin and retain its moisture level.

I was reading the reviews on Sephora and I kinda wonder if I received the same product than the other people, or if the stuff inside my bottle was accidentally switched or something because this was definitely NOT gentle on my skin. My skin does not irritate easily, but this made my skin red and blotchy. I don’t know if it was because it was cold outside and my skin was irritated from the cold wind, but it actually hurt when I was massaging it around, especially in my cheek area.

I think I will continue using this for another week or so and if it doesn’t improve, in the bin it goes. Or maybe I’ll just use it in my T-zone to rid it of blackheads. The good thing was it did actually clean, unlike that Dior cleanser I previously reviewed. But because I used this, it was another reason why I desperately needed to use a sheet mask in the middle of the week.

My score? ❤ ❤

I probably won’t repurchase it because it is too harsh on my skin.

My London trip was canceled. FUUUUUUDGE. 3/5 classes I had this week were canceled, which means I had nothing to do for the past 3 days, now today is completely boredom and so will tomorrow, because the local orientation tour around Southern England will also likely be canceled. I’m not just angry about having nothing to do, but all of that tuition money and money I paid for the included “trips” are now just going down down down into the drain, all $15,000 of it =___= [/rant]
