Jay Chou is coming to VANCOUVER!!

Posted by Sheila on November 12, 2010

Yes I am fangirling because one of my favourite people in the whole wide world, Jay Chou, is coming to Vancouver as part of the North American leg of his Era tour! I’m SO excited because the last time he came here was in 2003 (he was in Toronto in 2008), so of course I bought tickets almost immediately. He’ll be performing at Rogers Arena (formerly GM place) on December 23, 2010.

He is also going to be in San Jose and Los Angeles and you can find tickets for all three events here. Tickets start at $110 and go up to $500 (which are already sold out actually, crazy I know!). You can see the photos from the Jay Chou concert I attended in Beijing here. The Beijing stadium was HUGE and I sat in the very very back (because my cousin bought really shitty tickets), but this time I bought not-so-bad tickets so I’ll actually be able to see his face <3

Is anyone as excited as I am? Is anyone else going?!

Beijing 2010: Jay Chou Concert (very pic heavy)

Posted by Sheila on July 11, 2010

I absolutely LOVE this costume that he wore during just one of his songs. I guess it was too hot since the temperature that day was 38 degrees Celsius... The picture itself, I thought, was taken pretty artfully too. | Image Source: ent.qq.com

I went to the Jay Chou concert in Beijing during the first week of July. If you know me at all, then you will know I am a huge fan of him. Basically this concert was to celebrate his newest album as well as the 10-years of him being a singer/songwriter. The entire concert was about 2.5 hours long and he sang songs from over the 10 years. Some of the songs he sang were among my favourites, like “Superman can’t fly (超人不会飞)” and “Dragon Knight (龙战骑士).” He also invited a few of the artists from his management company to sing, including Lara who collaborated with him on “Coral Sea (珊瑚海)” and “Snake Dance (蛇舞).”

The tickets that my cousin got weren’t spectacular. We were quite far away and there was this huge metal stand thingy in front of us that was used to place stadium lights. I think from our seats, Jay’s entire body was about the size of my thumb nail, AKA tiny.

Me in front of Beijing Workers Stadium where the concert took place. The shirt I'm wearing is from a brand that Jay is the spokesperson for, called Metersbonwe <3

Lady Gaga!!

Posted by Sheila on March 26, 2010

(pic from Google)

I’m going to go see Lady Gaga with Macnunu on August 24 at GM Place in Vancouver. The amazing Macnunu got us floor tickets so I am SO excited. This will be the second concert I’ll attend after watching the Spice Girls reunion tour in 2008.

Here is a pic of Air Canada Centre in Toronto where the Spice Girls concert was held:

I’m also going to be watching a ballet of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Vienna at the Wiener Staatsoper, which is the Vienna State Opera House. We managed to get not-bad tickets for 8 euros each, so that’s going to be a super fun experience!

Music: Lost by Michael Buble

Posted by Sheila on February 8, 2010

This song always makes me want to cry. Not only that, but it makes me feel empty inside. I might not sound very good, but I don’t think I’ve heard many songs with that much of an impact on me emotionally.

Its one of those self-questioning times when I ask if I’m ever going to meet the love of my life.

Sigh. Oh well, enjoy!

Random exam study music~ What about Now by Westlife

Posted by Sheila on December 19, 2009

Surprisingly, I just found out a few weeks ago that Westlife is still active and releasing albums. I never knew boy bands were still in, but apparently they are. I’ve been a quiet fan of theirs since they were at the top of the charts maybe in the late 1990s, but the Backstreet Boys will always be my #1, hehe.

Here is a nice song that I’ve been listening to during my exam studying today. I have a final tomorrow in Operations Management and its probably one of the most boring topics I’ve studied so far, probably only second to BDM as one the courses that I’m least enthusiastic about.
Oh well, at least this song is nice.

Good luck to everyone who is still writing exams! Tomorrow is my last one and then I fly home 3 hours later XD. My next post will likely be from the beautiful city of Vancouver. Until then… I’m off to study some more.
